Jaye's Musings

After a bit more than the promised couple of weeks of being away, and of not being around anywhere near as much as I had hoped to try to be, I'm back.

My mum had a nice visit and we went around to lots of places including the foothills, the mountains, Napa, Old Sacramento, and of course, the local mall. I think she had a good time, and apart from a couple of days here and there, it wasn't too hot for her.

Still, I didn't get much writing in, as it's something I feel difficult to do when there's people around, especially when they're expecting me to entertain them. So, my muses have been driving me nuts, especially a certain future!verse merc with a snake tat and the Spartan....as I did find time to read a very good book about the Spartans, on which he had many opinions.

I wish to thank and send out so many huge hugs to those I write with and who have been so extremely patient with me. I have the day to myself today, so I will be doing catch-up. So if I owe a tag, and you haven't had one in the next couple of days, give me a poke as it's quite possible I lost track of it. Will also be hitting the prompts.

And doing a General Update.

Yesterday, I took #1 Son to pick up his car. We found him a 97 Hyundai from the repo lot. It's got a few things wrong with it, most notably it needs a new starter motor and a lock on the passenger's door, but it runs good otherwise. He cleaned it out as soon as we got it home...there was a load of crap in the back, like old clothes and stuff. And once we get it registered, he's going to take it to the Security Forces on base to let one of their sniffer dogs check it for drugs. Yes, this is a service they provide if you buy a used car downtown.

We're having some friends come over for dinner tonight. Luckily we're not doing anything fancy, just BBQ wings and salad. Though I do have to make a trifle for dessert and go out, clean house, and do some grocery shopping.

Tomorrow, I'm going up to Apple Hill again. I had such a fun time there with ladyofbrileith a few weeks ago that I have to take hubby and hit a few of the orchards.

Muses

Hsu is about ready to kill Cody. Figuratively and literally if his mood is anything to go by, so I have to find a way to circumvent that. I do feel bad for the boy she's snogging in the closet, but I'm trying to persuade him the whelp isn't worth the effort of killing. In the future, Hsu is in the Rani's TARDIS attempting to change history and save his children. And at Samhain, K'tanya asked him to kill Wes for her...and he agreed! Cody will have to keep him distracted from that. *g*

Mark, well he's on his way to rescue Alexa in the subway explosion. So that's keeping him busy. In another thread, he's talking with Methos about his curse and how he feels about the HL Immortals, which is a mix of feelings.

My new pup Stelios, has only added to the chaos in my brain. Manda and I just thought he would be excellent as an old friend for Mark and to join their storyline later, and then he pops in as a full blown muse, joining comms and chatting to people. Still working out a lot of his character, but I'm finding him refreshingly unangsty and happy in general. *pets Stelios*

Ath, on the other hand, is very unhappy that I have a Spartan pup. She hates him and is being very bitchy about him, although she acknowledges he is hot. So I have to keep those two separate as well. I will have to post that thread for her date with Fitz and keep her distracted there.

Daemon has perked up, first by being a part of Surreal's and Sam's wedding party and then he got into a conversation with Raoul de Chagny...and is now visiting Erik (not my Erik).

I've also deleted a few journals that really aren't getting used anymore, and probably won't as I have my hands full with this lot.

Okay, as from Wednesday I will be computerless. I'm flying out to England for a week, and when I get back the computer will have been packed away and shipped. I've requested a hiatus for Hsu and Bilis from TM until the first of September, that's roughly when I hope to have some kind of regular internet again, but maybe not until mid-September time. To that end, Bilis is fairly quiet anyway, he's just been chatting away in a couple of meta threads plus one thread with Jon that's slow moving anyway. Hsu is going away, sailing onto the horizon in his luxury yacht for parts unknown. No one will be able to contact him except for a select few, and only in emergencies.

Now on the occasion that I do manage to get online at the library or Net cafe, he may hit some tags, but only those that are still ongoing now. Nothing new.

You've heard me say it, guys...nothing new!...Please help me stick to that! *lol*

The other pups are pretty much quiet, a thread here and there, but nothing too bad, and again that I will get to on an as can basis.

That said, there will be priorities. Which brings me to neidr_melltith.

I know most of you have probably guessed long ago...as well, it's been pretty obvious...that I'm the mun behind the curtain for Mark (although I know a couple of people who believed he was written by someone else). I just want to say, firstly, that I kept my identity quiet for several reasons, none of which has anything to do with who he's involved with and who he doesn't get involved with. I was writing him before he joined ROTM, and I took him there to be in a different environment than TM, and I wanted to be sure I could be comfortable with him and get some things worked out about his character before I made him public. That he formed a solid relationship with another pup came later, developed slowly and naturally and was not the deliberate intent of either player.

That said, if anyone has any questions or concerns, regarding Mark and his relationships, I ask you please not to address them to any other player except me. I'm sorry, but if someone has a problem with who I choose to write and who with, they need to take it up with me. And if anyone gets hassled by someone because of this, please let me know. I don't want to get wanky about this, and I am trying to head off any wank, but I've been around long enough to know how this kind of stuff can spiral.

With that out of the way, the upcoming adventure plot involving Mark will take priority over the other pups. This is mainly to do with the fact that Mark went away about a month ago, and it was hard to find a believable reason to have him go away again so soon with everything that's happened.

In other news and for those who RP with my pups, I have my mum coming to visit tomorrow for Easter/spring break. So for the next week and a half, I shall be even more scarce than usual. I will try and hit tags when I can, and I'll give priority to certain threads (like Hsu's raid), but yeah, I'll be slower than usual.

Here's my State of the Muses address. (This is for my benefit really, although feel free to read if your interested)

I have to admit that this past week or so, I've been uninspired to write much of anything regarding the muses. I've just not been able to settle down and write something even though I've got ideas buzzing around. Hopefully I'm coming out of that as I have some quite old tags sitting in my inbox that I feel guilty at, but I just look at them and nothing happens.

I suck at picking names.

The problem with this is Haag is going to 'die' soon and will need not only a new name for him, but also as it'll be weird to use dieterhaag when he's not going to be that any more. So I'm seriously thinking of buying a rename token for that journal and changing it.

So what I'm asking, is any suggestions?
