I hate military doctors
Oct. 9th, 2003 10:57 amJust got back from my annual dentist appointment. I've never known a dentist (especially for a routine checkup) to take a patient's blood pressure, but they did. My blood pressure turned out to be a little high, and although he checked my teeth (all good, no problems), he wouldn't clean them. Please how is high blood pressure going to affect having one's teeth cleaned?
This is the FIRST time ever that I've had high blood pressure. Usually it's right around normal. In fact, when I had my annual female checkup a couple of months ago, it was okay. Never mind that my life the past few weeks have been, for me, a little more stressful than usual. The H is away in a potentially hostile environment, problems with the kids (nothing major, the usual stuff), dieting, school stuff. I think that might raise someone's BP.
Now I have to go to my Primary Care Manager and get my BP checked each day for 5 days. Never mind that the added worry (what if there really is a problem) is stressing me...and add to my BP. Of course, I'm going to go, but I don't see how this helping.
But my main point is why withhold cleaning my teeth until I get this done? I could see if I was having oral surgery or something that required medication, but cleaning my teeth?
