Colour me highly amused
by all the wailing and teeth gnashing that I've seen following the Beeb's announcement that David Tennant is stepping down as Ten after the specials. Jeez, anyone would think he's the only actor to have played the Doctor. Hello? He's done four seasons (plus the upcoming specials) which is a pretty good run, and while I think Eccleston's tenure was too short, that's the way of the show.
I'm looking forward to seeing who the new Doctor will be, though I'm not sure who*cough*Michael Fassbender*cough* would make an excellent Doctor. *g*

Hmm, on the one hand it did pop up on my flist after I mentioned it, though not seriously. The girl is a Brit who knows how the institution works. She just also happens to be a David Tennant fan. On the other hand I haven't visited any news sites to see comments made at them.
Comments have ranged from people wailing to threats against David Tennant.
*Frowns.* Wailing is one thing, but threatening David isn't right.
...my fave will always be Five, with Four a close second.
Heh, I had trouble getting into Five when I loved Four so much, and I don't think it helped any I always thought of Peter as Tristan from All Creatures Great and Small first.
I just hope they make him (or her!) significantly different in personality so it's not like they're trying to copy Ten.
*Nods.* I'm not sure I'm ready for a her, but since I pointed out to someone Time Lords can change gender I have no moral high ground to stand on.
Turlough will always be the Companion of all time for me.
*Giggles.* Sooo not surprised. I never much liked him, but. *Shrugs.* My Companion of All Time used to be K-9. My top two Companions of All Time are 51st century boys. :D
