Colour me highly amused

by all the wailing and teeth gnashing that I've seen following the Beeb's announcement that David Tennant is stepping down as Ten after the specials. Jeez, anyone would think he's the only actor to have played the Doctor. Hello? He's done four seasons (plus the upcoming specials) which is a pretty good run, and while I think Eccleston's tenure was too short, that's the way of the show.

I'm looking forward to seeing who the new Doctor will be, though I'm not sure who *cough*Michael Fassbender*cough* would make an excellent Doctor. *g*

OMG! If they got Fassy *I* would watch Dr. Who RELIGIOUSLY! And I've only seen it a few times for some older versions on PBS and was not too enthused. ;)

Glad to know I'm not the only one feeling this way. This week has apparently made me a "bad" fangirl. I didn't wail over Heroes not following fanon and now I'm not heartbroken over Tennant moving on. Truth be told, I'm very excited about a new Doctor - and while I won't get my prayer for DoctorDonna - I'm hoping for a less "ferrety" Doctor.

Heh, not sure if I feel deprived or blessed by the fact I haven't had to listen to any wailing and teeth gnashing. The people who've mentioned it on my flist have ranged from indifferent to downright gleeful, no one pissed or depressed. I definitely think Eccleston's tenure was too short. As far as New Who Doctors are concerned I'm still in morning for Nine. But, my all time favorite is and likely always will be Four. I say likely, but not absolutely because Captain Jack Harkness has easily become my favorite Companion of all time, and possibly my favorite Doctor Who character period. If Jack can come along and change a landscape built in me over more than 25 years, I can't rule out some new Doctor coming along and changing things again. B-)

LOL, part of the appeal of DW is that you have multiple Doctors. Those who are all wanksty over the change need to realize the pattern and move on.
