So I'm back, so to speak after an incredibly busy week with my mum visiting, and I'll probably update about that later.
Meanwhile, before my hiatus, I commented on this meme elsewhere, so I'd better reciprocate. *g*
So, you know the drill. Post below and I will:
1) Tell you why I friended you.
2) Associate you with a song/film.
3) Tell a random fact about me.
4) Tell a first memory about you.
5) Associate you with a fandom, or a character/pairing.
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
7) Show you my favorite userpic of yours.
8) In return, you must spread this disease in your LJ.

2. I can't pick one song, it's more groups. Chamber and Rammstein always make me think of you. As for films, anything with JRM.
3. As a kid, I had a budgie named Starsky.
4. Meeting you and
5. Star Wars, Black Jewels....Daemon/Lucivar, and to make it a threesome, Saetan. In RP, Jon and anyone who has a knife. *g*
6. I know this might well be impossible to answer, but why JRM? What was it that first made you notice him?
7. Can't pick just one:
Because Ewan + Trainspotting + SW = Win
Because it's just simply beautiful.
Don't think I need to explain this one. *g*
no subject
As for the question - why? I don't know. I think the first connection was made through Star Wars when someone told me that JRM was the perfect Xanatos. I love Xanatos ;). So I looked at the pictures they sent of long-haired!evil!JRM and I was lost ;)
I think he's more talented than people give him credit for, too.
Starsky... I always like Hutch more ;)
no subject
Hutch was my favourite too, but my mum convinced me that a budgie wouldn't be able to say Hutch, so Starsky would be better. As it was he never learned to say Starsky either...but he could do a very good telephone...fooled us many times. *g*
no subject
Yeah, ditto. Heh. It would have to be forced, for sure.
Or make it a really cheap excuse and dose one of them with safframate and have the other one help with the release. Heh. Okay, that's more badfic ;)

Ok, getting bad thoughts now...no, bad idea, bad idea...*grabs club to beat off the plot bunnies*

Yeah, a really bad but very appealing idea. :D

2) Not a song or a film, but I rewatched the Highlander episode "Homeland" (set in Scotland)recently, and I found myself thinking of Fanny
3) Despite growing up in Britain, I still have never been to Scotland.
4) I guess that would be when our muses started talking and we did OOCly and exchanging huge emails. *g*
5) I'm not sure that I associate you with a specific fandom, more like genre as in anything to do with Fae or pirates.
6) Was Fanny created with a definite purpose, or was she a muse who just appeared and refused to go away (much like Hsu!)?
7) I love the one you have up there...because it is just so true, and years ago, I earned the tag "muse abuser". I also love these two of Fanny:
no subject
1. You are so very sweet and that is high praise coming from someone like yourself who writes better than 98% of everyone else I know both on LJ and elsewhere. Your details and your loyalty to Hsu's character is very clear. I am humbled and honoured that you and your muse play with me and mine. ;)
2. I haven't seen that episode. I guess I better soon to see what you mean. :)
3. Wow! That is amazing! I went to England back in '96, never got to go to Scotland either. I would love to, however.
4. And I sent you an email a few weeks ago, I hope you got it. I know you have been verrah busy! Hoping you still want to do the RP we started. *crossing fingers and toes*
5. Those are the areas that Fanny seems to stick in.
6. That is exactly how it happened. Fanny actually was based on an ancestor, and then all of a sudden I started hearing this Scot's brogue in my head that would not shut up, would not leave, and she was addicted to power and magic, and being generally arrogant and demanding!
7. You picked my favourites as well! However, alot of times they just dont work for the muse prompts on TM.
no subject
2. It's just the Scottishness of it (the only one actually set and filmed in Scotland).
4. Yep, I got it...still clearing through my backlog and I certainly DO want to continue. Just have to get back in the headspace for it, and what with catching all my muses up, I haven't managed to yet. But in the next few days I should.
6. *nods* It's all to do with their personality, I reckon. If she (or Hsu for that matter) had been more laid back or shy and retiring, they would not have become the dominant forces they are probably.
7. I know, some of my favourites for Hsu are that way too.
no subject
(and, you'll be pleased in knowing that I'm definitely crushing on GB ;) whereas Calliepup has had a few naughty dreams involving Hsu *cough*)
300 was fantabolous!
Any news on the place assignement? (I'm behind with flist reading, sorry)
no subject
1) Again it was through TM, after Hsu started hitting on Callie and then we got chatting.
2) Neither. I'll always associate you with a TV show...The Professionals. It's where I first "saw" you around on lists etc many years ago.
3) I'm useless at coming up with random facts about myself. *g*
4) Online: As I said, noticing this name phantomas in different places, mostly connected with Pros or Highlander...and then in TM, Terry having a conversation with your Bodie way before I realized you wrote Callie. In RL, At the con in Leeds, lots of memories, but you borrowing Richard Ridings phone to call for a taxi sticks in my mind.
5) Pros. :D
6) Are you going to stay in England or do you plan, one day, to move back to Italy?
7)
As for our assignment. Not yet....they say we should find out sometime in the first two weeks of May, and wherever we go, it looks like we have to be there by July 10th! So watch this space!
And 300!...Yes very fantabolous...seen it twice so far. A visual delight, and I don't just mean the men.

LOL
busy/nosy bee that I am ;)
Richard is a sweetie! :D
We had fun, yesssss.
6)I honestly can't see a future for myself in Italy..which pains some, because I miss my family (as much as they make me crazy most times), but...nope. At least certainly for the foreseeable future. Ten years time, who knows. :)
Will keep an eye on you ;)

Because you are one of my oldest (online and RL) friends, and of course I friended you as soon as we came over to LJ.
2) Associate you with a song/film.
Traditional Chinese music and any film with Val in.
3) Tell a random fact about me.
Out of the housework, I hate cleaning the bath the most.
4) Tell a first memory about you.
Oh god, that's going back! *lol* Chatting with you on the original BABEs forum and discovering that we had very much the same view of Kronos. As for in person, meeting you in the hotel foyer for the Legacy con. The way you were so welcoming, I felt that I had known you for all my life...there was none of that awkwardness that sometimes comes with meeting someone.
5) Associate you with a fandom, or a character/pairing.
Highlander, duh! As for pairing there's two...Kronos/Noelle and Korda/Shi (despite Hsu's growling)
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
Where in the world, if you had the money, resources, time, etc., would you want to live?
I think I could guess, but...7) Show you my favorite userpic of yours.
That one. That hamster is just so damned cute.

I'd have to say the same for you. Geez we hung out when there were only email groups. And when EZboards were the newest shiny.
2) Associate you with a song/film.
Traditional Chinese music and any film with Val in.
That's cool, I do like that music and of course Val. *g*
I always think of you when I see Sean Bean. And now whenever I see Butler. For music well I'd have to say simply your tastes have never been like mine. *lol*
3) Tell a random fact about me.
Out of the housework, I hate cleaning the bath the most.
Oh god yeah that's not one of my favorites either.
Random fact for me, I love to visit museums.
4) Tell a first memory about you.

I remember the chats, was it Monday nights, I think for the Babes? Oh my god those where often too hysterical. But I have to say I met some very nice people there and have gained some good friends from those days. Who say online people are freaks? *g*
And yes, the con… *snickers* Remember Gandalf? I do love Sam. *lol* We did have a great time there. I remember how nervous we were to get autographs.
5) Associate you with a fandom, or a character/pairing.
Highlander, duh! As for pairing there's two...Kronos/Noelle and Korda/Shi (despite Hsu's growling)
*lol* I can see Hsu scowling at the entire thing. Noelle is still madly infatuated with K.
I always think of Highlander first when thinking of a fandom for you. Bo and Jay, Ath and Kronos, (cringes). But I also have to put Hsu up there and his relationship with Cee and Korda. Hey it's a three-way. *lol*
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
Where in the world, if you had the money, resources, time, etc., would you want to live? I think I could guess, but...
Hmm, honestly I'd live in Hawaii first, Tahiti second, Colorado third, and then New England. I also wouldn't mind spending some parts of the year in China or Paris.
Do you find moving every few years a difficult thing and would you have, if you could have, traded that lifestyle for a more sedimentary one? I think I know the answer to this but everyone is different.
7) Show you my favorite userpic of yours.
That one. That hamster is just so damned cute.
*giggles* Well I don't have too many icons to pick from. It is cute though.
I still like your Kimmie icon the best but you have lots of other nice ones. The kitty hairball one and the licking terrier are cute. And there's a couple of nice Sean and Gerry ones as well.
no subject
Ath and Kronos! Now Ath is scowling at you (whilst hiding from your Kmuse. *eg*) And now you have put this image of a threesome with Hsu, Cee and Korda and it makes for some pretty wild images.
Hmm, honestly I'd live in Hawaii first, Tahiti second, Colorado third, and then New England. I also wouldn't mind spending some parts of the year in China or Paris.
Hehehe...I guessed the Hawaii part. *g* They all sound good.
Do you find moving every few years a difficult thing and would you have, if you could have, traded that lifestyle for a more sedimentary one? I think I know the answer to this but everyone is different.
Hmmm...it does get more difficult with each move. You get to the point, least I do, that you just want to settle down in a place and just get established. Although I also do look forward to it and trying some place different (or hopefully, to go home again). It's like a fresh start. And I do wonder what it'll be like when hubby is retired and we don't move again. That'll be really strange. So I guess my answer is like in most things there's good and bad about it.
no subject
Sorry Ath. *g* You know Korda would protect you from Kronos... well maybe.
*lol* Korda passed out and we're trying to bring him back to life over here!

1) Tell you why I friended you.
Because we hooked up mainly with Hsu and Cass and began chatting from there and friended each other.
2) Associate you with a song/film.
There's two films that I think of with you, Lord of the Rings and Stormy Monday.
3) Tell a random fact about me.
4) Tell a first memory about you.
I think that would be through our pups, Terry and Brendan chatting.
5) Associate you with a fandom, or a character/pairing.
Lord of the Rings. Torchwood. Jack/Jack. R!Jack/Bilis *eg*. Cal/Finn.
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
What possessed you to take on Cass without knowing the fandom? Not that I don't love that you did, but it was a very brave thing to do!!
7) Show you my favorite userpic of yours.
So many lovely ones....some nice Bean ones there and Eomer.
also,
And Ath likes the Peta ones. *g*

Yeah, guess we owe these muses of ours something, hey?
2) Associate you with a song/film.

I get the Stormy Monday *g* - but LoTR? Am interested to know why?
3) Tell a random fact about me.
LOL! Well that was pretty... random?? ;)
4) Tell a first memory about you.
I think that would be through our pups, Terry and Brendan chatting.
Yup. I think they were - and I think Brendan remembers Terry mostly because, as he says, 'e was about the one bloke who didn't 'it on me!
5) Associate you with a fandom, or a character/pairing.
Lord of the Rings. Torchwood. Jack/Jack. R!Jack/Bilis *eg*. Cal/Finn.
Heee! I think R!Jack is getting pretty antsy, not having had any play now for a while and wondering where Bilis is and what he's up to! And Cal/Finn, really? I didn't think anyone would even remember those two!
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
What possessed you to take on Cass without knowing the fandom? Not that I don't love that you did, but it was a very brave thing to do!!
I hated seeing your plotline being stonewalled, as such, and had already figured out the manipulation and deceit that was going on, so I figured I'd offer to help out, if you wanted. When you accepted I nearly fell over! And without you and Mara I don't think I could have done it. But you know, in a way, I'm really glad I got to know Cass without having seen the shows. I read the scripts over and over, and hunted around yet couldn't figure out (as I said to Mara on many an ocassion, in many a long email) why everyone hated her so much. Because to me, when I looked at the woman, and what had happened to her, and how she'd managed to survive over 3,000 years, I thought this has to be a pretty clever cookie, and have one helluva lot of street smarts too! I hated seeing her depicted as an 'emo loser' only interested in angsting her way into people's affection. And then when I saw the episodes... well, I had NO trouble at all in figuring out why she was detested. I still cringe when I think of stuff in there... seriously! I can't think of a worst depiction of a character than what the producers and directors did to her, because in the script, and reading your story of her and Hsu - the feeling I got from her was just so different. In fact I think your stories were probably the original introduction to her I had, so they probably held a great deal of sway over my thougts come to think of it.
And so short story long? *g* I'm really glad you not only accepted my offer, but helped out the way you did. And loved the way it all came together!
7) Show you my favorite userpic of yours.
So many lovely ones....some nice Bean ones there and Eomer.
Thanks! Yes, I adore wizzicons stuff.
The fireworks is the NYE celebrations in Sydney this Jan 1 just gone. I still think they are the most spectacular in the world! *g*
And like I think I just said on my LJ re the one of Uluru - it is one of the real symbols of Australia to me.
And Ath likes the Peta ones. *g*
Heee! I'm thinking I need to make a few new ones, especially with her now about to get her memory back.
no subject
Yeah, but let's not tell them that.
I get the Stormy Monday *g* - but LoTR? Am interested to know why?
I just do. I guess it's Eomer, and your Aragorn icon, and Sean. Just makes me think of LOTR. *g*
3) Tell a random fact about me.
LOL! Well that was pretty... random?? ;)
LOL!! Yeah, I meant to say, I randomly skip over questions.
Yup. I think they were - and I think Brendan remembers Terry mostly because, as he says, 'e was about the one bloke who didn't 'it on me!
I think Terry was grateful for the same thing...because Brendan had, Terry wouldn't have hit on him, but hit him. *g*
Heee! I think R!Jack is getting pretty antsy, not having had any play now for a while and wondering where Bilis is and what he's up to!
I know! I actually need to rewatch the episode and focus on Nancy, which is why I've been holding off...I just haven't got around to it. It's on my list!!
And so short story long? *g* I'm really glad you not only accepted my offer, but helped out the way you did. And loved the way it all came together!
It came together brilliantly and works so well. I admit that Cass was never one of my favourites, and really the only reason she became Hsu's mother was there are very few female immies old enough. Even so, I also saw that she was treatd unfairly by the writers, and undersold her by having her fixate totally on revenge...which is a similar quibble that I have with Kronos. Thousands of years old and only have one focus or personality.

I've seen them on TV...they are awesome!
And like I think I just said on my LJ re the one of Uluru - it is one of the real symbols of Australia to me.
I'm glad you wrote that out, because I had no idea how to spell it. But yes, it's just so Australia.

Hell no!!! *shudders at the thought!*
I just do. I guess it's Eomer, and your Aragorn icon, and Sean. Just makes me think of LOTR. *g*
*g* OK. I was asked the other day if I'd be interested in writing Aragorn, that's all.
I think Terry was grateful for the same thing...because Brendan had, Terry wouldn't have hit on him, but hit him. *g*
I know! I actually need to rewatch the episode and focus on Nancy, which is why I've been holding off...I just haven't got around to it. It's on my list!!
Ah, I know the feeling. I'm still trying to download the Declassifieds - have about half of them. In the meantime I've been watching alternating episodes of TW and LFN. *whispers* just managed to get a hold of S4 & S5 of LFN so am waiting for those to arrive!

Yeah, as I think we've talked about before, when a person has lived as long as that lot they must go through complete cycles. I think the only one they showed that in well was Methos, who they gave the time to develop. It's a pity they couldn't have put that much thought into the others, after all it isn't that hard to figure out.
I'm glad you wrote that out, because I had no idea how to spell it. But yes, it's just so Australia.
It used to be called Ayers Rock but was returned to its traditional name of Uluru a number of years ago. There are so many tales about it, and I'd love to go there (still haven't been there!) but I don't think I'd climb it, because the Koori regard it as a sacred site and don't want people on it, but sadly it still goes on.
