Or perhaps you'd prefer me to address you as Kong Anou? I don't believe I ever had the chance to tell you how lasting an impression you left on me way back when. I've never forgotten that one and only meeting, and I've often thought back on it.

The first thing I feel I must do is thank you. If it had not been for you, I would have remained ignorant of the Game and my true potential as an immortal being for much, much longer. Perhaps, even, I would never have achieved the great heights I later did without the benefit of our get-together. At the time, I admit, I did not fully appreciate this, but as time has passed I have realized how monumental our meeting was.

There is one other thing, Anou. Another lesson you taught me then. How ruthlessly and viciously a man could be tortured. Until then, a man in my army or a prisoner may have been beaten, but was more likely to be simply killed. But after that invaluable lesson, I have on several occasions through the centuries employed one or more of those techniques you...demonstrated. One day, I may even get the opportunity to put all of them to good use.

I trust that one day we shall have the chance to meet again.
