Oh, I've come across it, and not just on fandom sites, but on comments on news sites too. Comments have ranged from people wailing to threats against David Tennant. I would have loved more of Eccleston, and I definitely prefer him over Tennant, although my fave will always be Five, with Four a close second. Yep, a different Doctor is how it's supposed to be...I just hope they make him (or her!) significantly different in personality so it's not like they're trying to copy Ten.
