When fandom and RL collide...

First, I had a lovely trip to Washington. There was only one problem, with only two full days there, it really wasn't long enough, but we visited Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens on one day, and then went into Seattle on the other, including lunch at the Space Needle. We also went to the Sci-fi museum, which was really cool. The aquarium was nice, but really not worth the admission price, and we could have spent more time at Pike Place market, but the son was full-on whining by that time. Then Saturday...just before we left...it rained!! It felt so good. *g*

Since then, I've been working, which has sucked.

But that does bring me to that in the Subject line. Yesterday, as I was going around the store, I happened to glimpse a customer's tattoo as he passed me by. It was only a quick glimpse, but I swore it was a Watcher tattoo...so I followed him for a little way and managed to get a better look at it. Indeed, there on his forearm, in the middle of a cross was the Watcher symbol. No, I didn't say anything to him...quite frankly I was too stunned, and he was on his way out of the store by then. But it made my day...although certain muses were snarling in my head for the rest of the day.

Okay, that would just freak me out.

It did me a little, and I did go back into the stockroom and have a moment for a quiet "OMG!!" And it didn't help that Hsu was pointing out that, see...not all Watchers stick the tattoo on their wrist and that they're trying to obscure it by incorporating it in other designs.

Yes, yes it is. He was planning on sending out a message to all, warning of this new Watcher tactic of blending the tattoo in other tattoos.

I just heard Faelyn's dagger slide out of it's sheath at the mention of a Watcher. I don't know, but I think she may have followed him down the street and to where he was staying. If you read about him turning up missing or something in the paper, chances are she probably killed him! ;) Of course, knowing her, we will never be able to prove it. *g*

All kidding aside, that is a bit creepy.

Interesting that you were in Seattle. My son was born there. We lived in a little town off of Puget Sound called Edmonds. My ex's grandparents owned a house there that had a view of the sound on three sides of the house. It was lovely. Yes, the aquarium isn't very much fun. You might want to find out when the next Bumbershoot festival is. That is all food and music and art and would be a great planned vacation. :)

Hsu's still mad at me because I wouldn't let him go after the guy. He was raging in my head. :D

It is creepy, I wish I'd asked the guy now if he was a Highlander fan, but I was just too stunned.

I wish we could have spent so much more time there, there was so much we just simply didn't have enough time to see that we would have liked. And I will have to remember that festival for when we do plan to go up again.

Seeing that tattoo would have caused me to stop and go for a second look. :)

PS - A little glimpse of one of our faves. ;)

Oh yes, and I was quite proud of my stealth skills, so that he didn't think I was stalking him...I hope.
