My stepsister just came home and told me this -- I thought she was joking for a minute.

Just so incredibly saddening!

I know. I couldn't believe it. I even double checked at a couple of different news sources hoping that it was wrong.

It's terrible. So young.

He really did have amazing talent; I know it sounds trite or something, but after seeing Brokeback Mountain I honestly felt that this man had a long and inevitably impressive career ahead of him. Of course it would still be a tragedy if it happened to someone who couldn't act their way out of a paper bag.

I'm doubly disturbed at this coming so soon after Brad Renfro's drug-related death.

I know. I was never a huge fan of his, but I liked a lot of the things I'd seen him in (Roar, Knight's Tale, Brokeback Mountain of course) and thought he had a very bright future...especially with the Batman film too. But you can never really tell. *sigh*

Right, I've never gone gaga fangirl over him myself, but there's still that appreciation for his talent -- and yes, what might have been. :(

This also just makes me angry at the existence of drugs in general. It's a totally pointless anger, but still.

Quite tragic. It's really very sad when one is that talented. The question of, "why?" inevitably pops into your mind.

:(

I still can't quite believe it. Never been a fan, but...

His poor family :(

I know. Can't say I was a fan either, but I always liked seeing him in stuff.

*nods* His poor little girl.

And I saw your post, about how shocking it is, and you're right if it had been any of those actors/celebs that are susceptible to self-destructive tendencies, then it wouldn't have been so shocking. Sad, tragic, but not shocking.
