Two pieces of good news...

...on the GB front.

1. As posted on gerardbutler.net, it's officially announced that Gerry has pulled out of the Escape From New York remake. I can't begin to say how happy I am about this, because from the moment it was speculated about I didn't like it. IMO, it would have been a big mistake in trying to recreate Kurt Russell's role.

It's the first photo from the film he's just completed called Nim's Island. OMFG!! I AM DEAD! Just look at him....the eyes, the hair, the clothes!

Also glad GB dropped out of (yet another Hollywood) remake...*headdesks* I can't call to mind any successful remake really!

There hasn't been, and there was a big backlash against Gerry taking the part of an "American icon"...so I'm happy he's not in it. And the film itself is in trouble, now on their third director, I believe.

Yes, I like dark-haired, but will have to see more pics to really see how I feel about the lighter hair. And someone on one of the GB comms said he looked quite Viggo-ish (from Hildago). *g*
