Okay, I've seriously neglected this journal over the past few weeks (or is it months), but from now on, I'm going to be a lot better...I promise! Of course, I'm saying this two days before I'm going to have very limited internet access for nearly two weeks. However, I will try and update regularly from now...at least once a week, and not with just memes and quizzes.
So, yesterday me, the hubby, and #2 Son went up to the Nurburgring to watch some old time races. They had different classes there dating back to the thirties up to the seventies. It was hot and sunny, but we still had fun. I do wish we'd known how much pit passes were (there was no info on the website) and had brought enough Euros with us to go around the paddock and pit lane, but next time. Instead, we were in the grandstand with a good view of the home straight.
Must say, my favourite was the last race we saw (before #2 Son's whining got too much for us). It was Formula One racing cars from the 70s. Thirty years old and still exceptional pieces of machinery...and the noise they make....LOUD and wonderful.
Another good sight was to see something like 50 Ferraris taking a high speed tour around the track...and 46 of these were red. Very cool! It also helped wake up one of my muses who's been a little lazy recently, but has an interest in racing and fast cars *g*
