My Thankful Post
Nov. 27th, 2008 10:46 am1. My kids. Sure they both give me headaches, and I definitely still worry about the eldest, even though he's 19 and therefore technically a responsible adult, but they are both good kids, polite and well-mannered, and with whom I can share my love of things geek with. Plus they are a lot of fun, and for teenagers quite loving.
2. My hubby. Yes, he drives me crazy at times and we have our ups and downs, but there is a reason we've been married this long. He is my best friend, and we have a laugh together...plus he does spoil me sometimes. Sure I'm looking forward to the freedom when he goes away next year, but I will also miss him terribly as well.
3. My mum, brother, and other family. I miss them and wish they could be a lot closer than 6,000 miles away, but I'm glad that they're just a phone call away.
4. The U.S. Air Force. As a military spouse it's been a part of my life for over two decades(!). While I'm also thankful for those in the other services, the USAF tends to be forgotten one. Along with soldiers and Marines, there are airmen serving both in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also, I'm thankful that hubby is now at the rank he is, and for the first time, after years of scrimping, we can live comfortably and securely.
5. Work. Yes, it sucks and I hate it, but it's a job and it pays so that we can have some 'frit' money.
6. My friends, especially Manda and Christina, who have been the two who kept me writing at a time when I seriously considering chucking it all in. And they have both become such great, dear friends. Also, to Doreene, Franzi, Silvia, Jacki, Lorelei, Layla (for the Bollywood love), Mara, Isolde and everybody else who have given me the opportunity to write, play and fangirl with over the years. I'm so very thankful to have met, IRL or not, you all.
7. The parents of Gerard Butler, Michael Fassbender, Hrithik Roshan. *ggg*
8. My muses. They drive me insane sometimes, make me laugh at inappropriate times at others, but I really don't know what I would do without such wonderful characters to torture.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to those who celebrate...and to those who don't, just have a Happy Day!!
