My other birthday present came today....the one the H got me. Highlander Series 1 on DVD! Yes, I cannot wait to get into it. Of course the one I'm REALLY waiting for is Season 5 when it comes out....but one at a time I guess.
Also treated myself to a new pair of shoes. Some black mule shoes. They are super comfy and much nicer than wearing sneakers all the time.
One of my online classes officially ends this weekend, and I've just submitted my final exam. I got my term paper back yesterday and despite a couple of minor screw ups on the citations (I hate APA style!), I still got 100. I'm pretty damned pleased with myself. I usually do well on papers, but I don't think I've ever aced one before. Still slogging away at the other, have the midterm for that next week (the online classes overlap at UMUC) and the final for my computer class next Wednesday, which I'm not looking forward to...I'll be very happy to get a C from that. I tell you, a computer theory class is SO boring. Then it'll be time to sign up for the next round..gah! A US history class and a Philosophy class...so shouldn't be too bad, especially as the latter's teacher is pretty good and easy.
October 1st was a great and wonderful day here for military people and their families (if they live in base housing)...They finally turned on the heat. For the past month, it has been getting cold at night, down into the 30s and no heating. My bedroom was the coldest fucking room in the house. I had the radiator in the room switched on, so that when they did turn on the heat, it would warm. So I'm chilly (coz the downstairs radiators are off) and go to bed, and as I go into my room I thought it felt strangely warm. And lo and behold...a hot radiator.
The H has sent me some photos from downrange, I wish I could share them, but I don't want to get in trouble. But it looks quite pretty there actually. I was surprised...I was expecting a barren wasteland with tents. And also a picture of a plane with a blackened noise from firing so many live rounds. I'm not into planes, but that looked cool.
