Novel Progress

Yes, I know I haven't really updated this in forever, but I'm working regularly on my novel again, so I'm actually going to track it.

I'm aiming for 1,000 words a day, although I know that will vary more or less depending on any number of factors. Still, slow progress is still progress (and this is why I don't do NaNoWriMo *g*)

I'm rooting for you!

I'm rooting for me too! *ggg* Although Alexa wouldn't be too happy with what I'm putting Mark through.

BEWARE THE FROWNY ALEXA FACE!

BTW, Jacki was "what-iffing" about Altaaf and Ryan, and what if Ryan woke up and saw Alex and/or Frankie in the house?

HEHEHEHEHEH!

[identity profile] simplyjaye.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That is totally evil 'what-iffing' LOL! Poor Altaaf would probably freak. Especially if it was Frankie......*ggg*

[identity profile] moderate-mod.livejournal.com 2011-02-22 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Frankie has a weakness for pretty soldier boys. If Frankie was drunk, it would be all the funnier. Heh...I might have Ryan dream that, then wake up all sweating and gasping for air.

I can just imagine some of the things that would come out of Frankie's mouth. That would be a fun dream for her!

I'm so very happy that you are working again on what you really have wanted to do for so long. :)

Thanks! Unfortunately, over the summer I haven't been able to work on it at all, I've been so busy even to get inspired. Things are gettng back to normal...and I can make myself get back into it.

How have you been? It's good to "see" you around!

[identity profile] itsmybrain2.livejournal.com 2011-09-12 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, been alright. I didn't get a notif for this, sorry. Should most likely email you with news, not for public eyes. Best email to reach you?

Oh, I'd like that. It's still jayesmusesATgmail.com. :)

Patience woman! I'm getting to it.

Been doing some NaNo prep work as well.:P

are we nanoing? I am almost tempted then keep remembering that it's the Christmas FAir at the end of the month...

why can't they have NANO in JAn?? I'm bored then.

I know...Jan is the perfect month...why Nov, things start getting busy in Nov?

I'm not expecting to win, but if it gives me the motivation to work on the novel consistently, then it's all good.

You win every day you show up at the page and type something!

[identity profile] simplyjaye.livejournal.com 2011-12-09 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
So true! And I do manage to write something just about every day, or try to! But I'm going to try my own Nano challenge in January, when I'll have time...just to get some head way on the novel

That sounds like a plan. And when you are ready, I hope you decide to self-publish. If you haven't caught some of the following blogs, they give you good tips.

http://www.thepassivevoice.com
http://www.deanwesleysmith.com
http://kriswrites.com
http://jakonrath.blogspot.com

They have all been there and done it and make some good $$ and haven't sacrificed their art to legacy publishing. Lots of good stuff there whenever you are ready.

Thanks! I will definitely check them out. And self-publish is certainly an avenue that I'm going to seriously look into.
