Happy New Year All!

Well, I made it back. We had a good trip. I do love that area, so beautiful. The family only managed a couple days of skiing as there really wasn't much snow and they kept hitting rocks, when there's usually about a meter. We did get to see a mini-biathalon in downtown Garmisch, where they shipped in snow, and watch Olympic champion Michael Greis and silver medallist Martine Glagow (from the local club) race and shoot in a relay. They won, but it was close until the last leg where their closest rivals missed 4 of 5 shots. Lots of fun to watch and some nice eye candy in seeing Greis in his tight suit (Martine was very nice too!)

Sunday we watched the ski jumping qualification round. Again lots of fun watching the top jumpers in the world compete, including my favourites Adam Malwycz and Thomas Morgenstern who qualified 5 and 3 repectively. We made a good call to go to the qualifications rather than the final competition the next day as the weather turned, and it was rainy and windy. We watched on Eurosport and it looked very miserable, so much that they cancelled it after the first round.

New Year was seen it at the AFRC (Armed Forces Recreation Center) Edelweiss Resort. We attended the party there, listened to the band playing -- Ingram Hill...middle of the road rock, but good for free. Then, of course were the fireworks. Garmisch-Partenkirchen sits in a valley and the Edelwiess at one of the higher spots so we got to see fireworks from all over the city, and ones up on the moutains. It was an amazing sight...although our display was probably the best. :D



So I'm back now and will slowly be catching up on everything (RP and otherwise). If there's anything that needs my attention or something let me know. I've checked my flists, but I could've missed something. I didn't get much chance for writing, but I made quite a few notes of a plotting variety, so some of you can expect emails from me at some point. :D

Gotta run some errands and do laundry for now, but will be back on later.
