I still have a Live Journal?
It seems that I do despite not posting to it (aside from icontests) for a loooooong time. So, although I'm not one for resolutions, I'm going to endeavour to try and update regularly, probably with mostly meaningless (to everyone else) stuff from my life.
I am debating with myself whether to mirror what I post here to my Dreamwidth Journal, but for the foreseeable future, I'm not leaving Live Journal. I'm still roleplaying, for those of you who might have thought I've fallen off the RP world, but most of it is now over at Insane Journal (100 free icons, FTW!), with some at DW and here at LJ, and I'm trying to get a couple of inactive pups active again...so we'll see how that goes.
-- Hubby had his hopefully last deployment (it's the military, never say never) in Afghanistan and got home in July.
-- I got totally into "A Song of Ice and Fire". Favourite character is by far, Tyrion, but I also love(d) Jamie, Dany, Sansa, Petyr Baelish, and Khal Drogo. I have to admit I'm indifferent on Jon Snow and the rest of the Starks.
-- In the meantime, I took a couple of very nice vacations, dragging an unwilling teenage son around the wilds of North Wales and Scotland/Northern England, which I did manage to post about here.
-- The oldest boy, who is now in the US Air Force too, came to visit in July as well, and it was lovely to see him again. We took a trip to Garmisch in Bavaria for a few days, which was lovely (though it is so much prettier in winter!)
-- In August, we had a week in Majorca (Spanish island in the Med) in which we really did nothing except lie out by the pool.
-- In October, I took another vacation to England and spent a week in a Norfolk seaside cottage with my oldest bestie,
gmnoonie and her lovely lab, Jinx, and she indulged me on my Roman geekiness in visiting sites.
--
gmnoonie and I also started our much talked about RP plot! We've both been RPing in different venues for years and had long thought it was about time we tried to do something together.
-- I actually managed to write a not-insignificant amount on my novel in November. Not Nano winning amounts, but I really got going on it until RL stuff intervened in the form of a hospital stay, Thanksgiving, and then just general holiday busy-ness.
-- Spent the Holidays in England with family there, probably the last time I'll do that in a while.
-- Getting my weight under control for once and for all and my health, in general, sorted out now that I have a doctor who 1) knows his stuff, and 2) is taking an active interest.
-- Working on the novel and finishing the first draft...at least!
-- Going on a girlie trip to Lanzarote (Canary Islands) next weekend...some sun and warm weather in January, FTW!
-- Several trips to the UK, including at least one with
gmnoonie in Feb/Mar time that we still have to plan out as we enjoyed Norfolk so much...and hopefully others.
-- Spring break in Ireland. Okay, not terribly excited about this as it's one of hubby's 'bucket list' places, but I might have just found a great location.
-- Youngest son graduates!
-- A trip back to the States in August to get forementioned youngest settled in college (which ever one that hopefully turns out to be) and also to start looking out for a property to buy.
-- Oktoberfest...our last opportunity to do it.
-- Also a trip to Paris and maybe Berlin, and I'd love another jaunt down to Italy.
-- And, oh yeah, keeping this journal updated and more RP fun!
-- Work on some geneaology of the family
-- Start doing some crafty things...going to tackle scrapbooking first.
It's going to be a busy year!

Wow... your trips sound fun! I hope you had a good time. :)
And congrats on the hubby... fingers crossed on that one.

I have. :) We're just trying to see as much as we can while we're still over here.
Thanks...me too! Hopefully the fact he has just over a year left until he retires, that bodes well.
